Khaa key gujiya, pee key bhaang,

baaja ke dholak aur mridang,

Holi in 2012 will start on Thursday, the 8th of March and will continue for 2 days until Friday, the 9th of March.

Holi is celebrated on the Phalgun Purnima (or Pooranmashi, Full Moon) in the month of Phalgun according to the Hindu Calendar

FUNDAMENTAL DUTY FOR ALL HUMANS

Dear SELF, We the Human species are considered in the superior position in the Living Kingdom because of some special characters, the main one is we are blessed with INTELLECT (BUDDHI) which is nothing but discriminatory capacity to differentiate GOOD FROM BAD FROM GOOD as there is nothing in the Universe which is 100% good or 100% bad but a mixture of both good & bad and we the humans are the only ones who can differentiate this phenomenon.

Due to the gift of this unique feature, we are obliged to observe some fundamental duties in our everyday life that too for HINDUS it is a must according to the SANTANA DHARMA which is the oldest in the creation.

If we all agree, we need to observe daily as specified as many as we can without neglecting our daily routine.
Before observe these there is a basic requirement which in itself is essential for those who cannot bather with all the duties in the earlier part of the day.

WE ALL CAN THINK. SPEAK AND ACT-MANASA, VACHA, KARMANA-THOUGHT, WORD AND DEED.

This is called universally as TRIKARANA SUDDHI (TRI=3) KARANA (FACULTIES) SUDDHI (PROPERLY)

As Humans we for anything to do, first we need to think a head and talk what we are going to do and then act in accord. In other words WHAT WE THINK, WE NEED SPEAK, WHAT WE SPEAK, WE NEED TO ACT-THOUGHT-WORD AND DEED.

If we spend a few minutes before going to bed to see is there anything that we thought during the day, did not speak and we did not act what we spoke. If so WHY NOT?

Again to promise to ourselves not to repeat this next day and let us be honest to our self.

If we practice this daily and truly and honestly in the rest of our lives, we do not need to do any rituals, prayers, Japas or Homams .

But if we do not stick the thought, word and deed principle whatever rituals/japas/poojas we do, IT IS JUST A WASTE OF TIME , ENERGY AND MONEY.

If you carry on our fundamental duty of thought, word and deed plus poojas, prayers etc we will get EXTRA BENEFIT NOT ONLY FOR US BUT ALSO TO ALL THE FAMILY 7 GENERATIONS IN THE PAST AND SEVEN GENERATIONS IN THE FUTURE!

January 30 is RADHA SAPTAMI, THE DAY SUN CAME TO KEEP ALL OF US IN GOOD HEALTH TO GET THE MISSION OF THIS LIFE NAMELY SALVATION WITHOUT DEATH OR BIRTH.

In ANDHRA PRADESH, Ratha Saptami is also celebrated as Kodalla Panduga that is as a festival for the daughters-in-law of the house. The daughters-in-law are gifted with new dress and a sweet is offered along with a festive meal for the entire family. Two days prior to Ratha Saptami on Maagha Masam Shukla Panchami, it is Kodukula Panduga that is a festival for the sons. Perhaps this is the only area in the entire country which has festivals earmarked every year for the Sons and Daughters-in-law.

Those of you who have missed these two occasions in this week or do not follow this tradition may celebrate and enjoy them this weekend! in honour of these important family members.
